Launch title for the Playstation 3, in which you play an American soldier infected with an alien pathogen, which gives him extra healing powers and strength, but will eventually overwhelm him, turning him into a Chimera, which he is fighting to destroy. Set in an alternative 1951, the game covers various locations in England such as Cheddar gorge, and Manchester. It was the location for one of these battles that caused hysteria in the British press and news channels, particulary the BBC, when the nave of Manchester Cathedral is used for a gun fight, almost exclusively for shooting little scorpion like creatures trying to maul your character to death. The church of england, who had clearly not seen the game threatened to sue Sony for using the cathedral in this way, and for using it's image without permission, they demanded it's withdrawal from sale. It was quickly revealed that they had not used the real interior, but a likeness of it, any copyright infringement was soon found to be without merit. Also the News footage used video of the game so blocky and indistinct that it was impossible to make anything out clearly, while they described 'hundreds of enemies being killed'. Sony did offer a formal apology for any distress caused, but the game remained on sale and unaltered. The game was nominated for a BAFTA in 2007, eventually losing out to Football Manager 2007.
